Instructions for the Petition to Walk in Commencement form

1)       The Petition to Walk form for Fall Commencement must be completed and submitted with a copy of your current DARS to the Registrar’s Office (SW 119).  Forms that do not have a current DARS attached will not be accepted.  Complete petitions must be submitted by Friday, November 9, 2007 at 5:00pm.  No petitions will be accepted after the deadline date, for any reason.

2)       Fall Commencement petitions will be accepted only from students 4-or-fewer credits short of all degree requirements – major(s), general education, minor(s), etc. as shown on the DARS. You must take care of any pending transactions (transfer credits, exemptions, substitutions, etc.) with your school's advising office before submitting your petition.

3)       If your petition is approved, you will receive an email from the Commencement Office by Monday, November 19, 2007. Students that are approved to walk in commencement must print this email and bring it to the University Bookstore in order to purchase commencement regalia and receive tickets.

4)       If your petition is not approved or there are questions about the information you have provided, you will be contacted by the Registrar’s Office via email.
