FALL COMMENCEMENT TIMELINE

|
August 2007
|
- If you need assistance
reviewing your DARS, please meet with your
school's advising office as soon as possible.
- If you are an Undergraduate
student that will complete your requirements
in Spring 2008, be sure to submit your
Application
for Undergraduate Degree ; the
deadline is September 7, 2007 (the Add/Drop
deadline for registration). If you have
missed this deadline, please submit this
form to the Registrar's Office as soon as
possible.
- Please make sure that the
correct Permanent
Home Address is on file with the Registrar's
Office to ensure you receive all important
Commencement mailings. The student's signature
is required for all address changes; we
cannot accept requests by e-mail.

September 2007
|
- The Commencement Office
will create the Undergraduate Senior Listserv
after the Add/Drop Deadline. All
students with 88-or-more credits are automatically
be added to this email list. Information
about both the Fall and Spring Commencements
will be distributed to students via this
listserv. Students that do not want to be
part of this list, or do not yet have 88
credits but do want to join the list may
send a request to the
Commencement Office.

October 2007
|
- Information about Yearbook
Senior Portraits should be available by
late October/early November. Portraits are
taken on campus, and students schedule their
picture time online. Details will be sent
to students on the Senior Listserv.
- A mailing with a letter
from President DeFleur, the Spring 2008
commencement schedule, hotel information
and FAQ's is scheduled by the end of October.
Students that have 88-or-more credits that
have not filed a request to graduate in
Fall 2008 will be included in this mailing.

January 2008
|
- Spring Classes begin January
28, 2008--Welcome Back!
- If you are interested in
confirming if you can graduate in Spring
2008 or need assistance reviewing your DARS,
please meet with your school's advising
office as soon as possible.
- If you have not yet
filed your Application
for Undergraduate Degree for Spring
2008, and you plan to graduate this
semester, please submit this form
to the Registrar's Office as soon as
possible. If you are considering
graduating in Summer or Fall 2008, your
Application for Undergraduate Degree is
due on the Add/Drup deadline of the Spring
Semester; if you missed this deadline, please
file it with the Registrar's Office as soon
as possible.
- The
Undergraduate Commencement RSVP form
is mandatory for all Spring 2008 candidates
that wish to attend the Spring 2008 Commencement
events. Your Application for Degree
for the Spring 2008 semester must be on
file before you submit the form. The Commencement
RSVP allows students to petition for additional
tickets, request accessibility accommodations
for their guests, and purchase their cap
and gown at the University Bookstore during
the sales period.

|
- The Spring Commencement
Undergraduate Petition to Walk begins February
28. Details will be sent to the Advising
Offices, sent to the Senior Listserv, and
posted on the Commencement website at this
time.
- The Call for Undergraduate
Student Speakers will begin in mid-February.
Details will be provided to campus offices,
e-mailed to students on the Senior Listserv,
and will be posted on the Commencement website
at that time.

April 2008
|
- The Undergraduate
Commencement RSVP is due April 11, 2008.
This form must be submitted by Spring 2008
undergraduate degree candidates in order
to be eligible to purchase the cap and gown,
and receive guest tickets to the Sunday,
May 18th ceremony.
- Undergraduate Student Speaker
nominations will be due the first week of
April. Nominees will be contacted for interviews
later in April.
- All Petitions to Walk are
due in the Registrar's Office by Friday,
April 4, 2008. Late petitions will not be
accepted.
- A mailing with parking
and shuttle details is scheduled in mid-April
to the parents/guardians of undergraduate
Spring 2008 candidates. The Undergraduate
Commencement RSVP must be on file for students
to be included in this mailing.

May 2008
|
- The Parking and Accomodations
Request form should be submitted no later
than Monday, May 5, 2008 to guarantee timely
processing.
- 2007-2008 Yearbooks will
be available for pick-up in the University
Union. Details will be e-mailed to students
on the Senior Listserv. Contact the Yearbook
Office if you need to make arrangements
for delivery.
- Commencement Weekend
is May 17-18. Undergraduate
Recognition Ceremonies and the Graduate
School Commencement will be held on Saturday,
May 17. The Undergraduate Commencement ceremonies
will be held on Sunday, May 18.
- The Ceremony DVD order
form will be available the week immediately
following the ceremonies. Students
may also contact the Commencement Office
if they wish to request additional copies
of the Commencement Program.

|
- Spring 2008 graduates will
receive their diplomas around the end of
July/early August. Diplomas and transcript
requests will be held if the student has
any outstanding obligations on their record.
Students
may check for outstanding obligations by
visiting the BUSI
system--select "Quik Pay Student Payment,"
log-in, and then "View Accounts."
- If you were unable to complete
your requirements in the Spring 2008 term,
but filed an Application for Undergraduate
Degree for that semester, you must file
a new application for the correct semester.

- The Deadline for the
undergraduate Fall 2007 Commencement RSVP
is TBD. Summer
2008 graduates and Fall 2008 candidates
must complete the RSVP to be eligible to
purchase their cap and gown.
- All Undergraduate Petitions

the official deadline is TBD. Late petitions
